(video includes: Grand Canyon, Flintstones Village, and Plane Museum)
On May 2nd I back tracked a little bit to go to the Grand Canyon. It was maybe an hour drive to get there from where I was and it was going in the opposite direction, so I had to add about 2.5 to 3 hours to my drive time. I tried to always arrive around 8pm to my hosts homes, sometimes it worked out, sometimes it did not.
So... the Grand Canyon is a National Park and it costs $25 to get in. I was unaware of this. I paid the $25 fee which gets you a weeks worth of repeated entry. Not bad if you are spending a week... but when you are going to be there 30 minutes, it's a bit pricey.
Overall, I thought the Grand Canyon was impressive, but I do not feel I got my money's worth. For those curious, I did not take a donkey ride down the canyon... no way... no how am I trusting any jackass other than myself to get me down the side of a canyon.
After viewing the canyon I headed for Albuquerque, but I passed this little place called 'Flintstones Village' or something, so I stopped off there to take some pictures and video. Also, there was a historic plane museum and I took a couple photos of some of the planes.
From the plane museum.
Plane museum.
Flintstones automobile.
Dinosaur thing.
I saw a lot of homes and businesses like this... by themselves in the middle of nowhere.
